You do not qualify if you:

1. Are contacted about sponsorship and you refuse.
2. Have not been updating your online resume.
3. Have not been participating in local, regional or national events.
4. Are sponsored by a company.
5. Have not meet your sponsor conditions and they remove you.

1) Are contacted about sponsorship and you refuse.

If, over the course of the year, you have been contacted by a company interested in sponsoring you and you refuse then you do not qualify. Companies might not present you with the ideal sponsorship at the beginning but they will as you progress through your sport. Buy refusing to accept any type of sponsorship you are sending out the wrong message.

2) Have not been updating your online resume.

If, over the course of the year, you have not been updating your online resume then you do not qualify. Your resume is your ticket to sponsorship. A interested sponsor will want to track your progress through out the year and offer you something before the next season begins. If you do not constantly update your resume then interested parties might think you are not interested any more.

3) Have not been participating in local, regional or national events.

If, over the course of the year, you have not shown that you have participated in local, regional or national events then you do not qualify. You do not have to enter and win everything out there. But you do have to show that you are a competitor. You do have to get out there and improve your skill and show your passion for the sport. Sponsor look for this. Lazy people need not apply.

4) Are sponsored by a company.

If, over the course of the year, you have found sponsorship either through SMO or some other source then you do not qualify. This is self explanatory but we had to explain it anyways.

5) Have not meet your sponsor conditions and they remove you.

If, over the course of the year you have received sponsorship and have not lived up to there request then you do not qualify. Sponsors will have you do things to promote there product from handing out stickers to making public appearances. Some sponsors will require simple things like decals on your ride or to wear or use there products. If you stray from there requests they may find other athletes.
